Mark Bochsler is an accomplished Canadian camera operator & photographer, turned filmmaker. During his 25-year career, his work has been screened internationally at festivals including Cannes (2010, At Home By Myself… with You), and on television (ARTE, Animal Planet, Discovery, CBC). He was also nominated for a Canadian Screen Award (CSA)/Gemini Award (Fatal Deception, CBC, 2013).

Mark is a storyteller fuelled by a passion to explore diverse stories about the human journey, to bring much needed understanding to today’s fractured world.

Mark resides in Toronto, Canada with his partner in life and work, Sandra Leuba, and their two young children.

Sandra Leuba | Producer
Originally from Switzerland, Sandra’s thirst for discovery brought her to Canada where she found a vibrant documentary community and a future in filmmaking. Over the past 15 years, she has gained experience through diverse roles in scripted and non-scripted projects. She has spent the last seven years dedicating her time as producer of Surviving Bokator. In addition to her life as a producer, Leuba also keeps one foot planted in the financial industry, currently at RBC Wealth Management as a Senior Manager, Global Credit Project.

Leuba is filmmaker Mark Bochsler’s partner. Together they have two little boys, Lucas and Nolan who have become huge Bokator fans. You might even spot Lucas in the film!

Adrian Ellis | Composer
Adrian is an award winning composer and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known for his theme and music package for Discovery Canada’s flagship show, Daily Planet, his award winning score the Canadian Screen Award nominated series Out With Dad, and his work as a producer for Late July, whose sophomore album was called “a work of art from beginning to end” by Spill Magazine. He appears on numerous recordings and live performances as a musician, arranger, and producer.  He has also developed, moderated, and appeared on panels for festivals such as TIFF and for the Canadian Film Center, and serves as secretary on the board of directors of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada.

Kevin Schjerning | Editor, Writer
An editor for more than two decades, Kevin has shepherded a full spectrum of film and television through the cutting room – with more than a dozen feature dramas and docs, plus numerous dramatic shorts and long-form TV episodes, to his credit. He was the Senior Editor of the award-winning ‘Prom Night In Mississippi’, featuring Morgan Freeman – an emotionally-charged account of a high school’s first-ever integrated prom. For Kevin, content is at the fore, and story and structure are paramount.

Joseph Johnson-Cami | Editor
Joseph Johnson-Cami is a filmmaker and editor who is inspired by creative collaborations and the necessity to create films that are a force for expression and social change. His most recent projects explore the role particle accelerators played in the development of high energy bombs, Strange Matters (2015), the power of one man’s dream to use an ancient Cambodian martial art to heal a nation, Surviving Bokator (2018), and a historical reinterpretation of the industrial forces that have driven Western capitalism, The EcoNomic EcoSystem (2018).
